dc.description.abstract This research investigates the effect of using cooperative learning as a strategy to enhance students' level of English language reading comprehension. It aims to determine whether the students reading ability would be improved by using a cooperative learning strategy. To give consistency to the study, a questionnaire has been submitted to a sample composed of a group of twenty five third-year Foreign Languages stream students at Hamza Ben Abdelmotalib Secondary School. The questionnaire aims to collect information about cooperative learning and its importance in developing reading skills besides their attitude toward using cooperative learning as a strategy to enhance reading skills in the classroom. The results have revealed that cooperative learning is the appropriate strategy that increases students' reading skill. Moreover, the questionnaire results confirmed the hypothesis that students have a positive attitude toward using CL as a strategy to develop their reading. It also proved that the CL is the right technique that develops students' reading skills and creates a good classroom climate where students can participate without fear of making mistakes fr_FR
