Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of public libraries in the development of community culture, and we have chosen the main library for public reading in the state of Tissemsilt for the field study through the services and activities it provides to the community and the difficulties it faces, and this was done using the descriptive analytical approach, in addition to the data collection tools represented In the questionnaire that was with the beneficiaries of the library, as well as the interview conducted with the officials in the library. The study resulted in several results, the most important of which is that the cultural activities carried out by the library contribute to the cultural development of the community through its support for social ties within the same community, in addition to its modern services, which have become a necessity in order to become unconventional in light of the strong competition faced by the main libraries for public reading in This era in order to contribute to raising the cultural and informational level of the beneficiaries.
